Over the past twenty-plus years - while writing his own songs, playing bass in bands like The Luna Moth, Pufferfish and Death Spa, and running the compilation series Ball of Wax Audio Quarterly - Levi has quietly pursued an improvisational solo project called Passenger Pigeon. The primary elements are simple - baritone guitar and a looping pedal or two - but the rhythmic, sonic, and melodic possibilities and variations are endless. After several limited-edition CD-Rs and spontaneous recordings released to Bandcamp, Levi began expanding live Passenger Pigeon performances in 2023, in collaboration with fellow looping improvisers Leanna Keith and Kate Olson.

Another New Low is the first full-length Passenger Pigeon album. Recorded and improvised at home and mastered by Andrew Weathers, it’s an instrumental exploration of living through this era. Accompanying the music are nine writings, pulled from Levi's daily practice of writing 100-word stories and reactions to the surreal, horrifying, and occasionally sweet reality of what we've all been living through for the past year or so.
