Brad Dutz and Ron Coulter are two the most creative and accomplished percussionists in North America today. Both are dynamic composers and performers, with vast recording credits to their names. We wondered what would happen if we got just the two of them together in a big room with lots of gear and turned on the microphones? Their unique new Right Brain Records album, Doppelbängers, is the result.
It’s a freely improvised smörgåsbord of delights. Dutz and Coulter wandered at will among drum kits, hand instruments, tuned percussion and found objects in an adventurous session captured here.
